Heartland Cup
Heartland Cup
1st ANNUAL Heartland Cup
April 3rd , 2005 In the spirit of the Continental Cup held in November 2004 pitting the best Europeans against the best North Americans, we will have our own cup classic but dividing our club into two equal entities. (The 1:45 Session vs. the 3:15 Session) RSVP: Email us and let us know you are interested. Cost: $25 per player (The Field will be cut to 40 player total.) What: This will be a 2 part skins event with 400 points total at stake. Team with the most points wins. There will be 2 head to head team events worth 100 points each, 2 head to head team event worth 25 point each and 20 head to head individual events worth a variety of points totaling 100 points. The winning teams for the 10 week league for each session will be captains for there respective session and assign players as they see fit to optimize their points. Who: Anyone who has curled in our club is welcome to participate and should be available for the entire 2:00-5:00 time frame to either participate in 2 games or a game and an individual event. Teams Events. Players assigned a team will compete against a team from the opposing session for a total or either 25 or 50 points. Teams only win points for that end if the team with the hammer scores more than 1 point or the opposing team scores. Failure to do either carries over the points for that end to the next end. Points for each end played respectively are 4, 6,7,9,11, and 13 for the final 6th end for a total of 50 point. 2,3,3.5,4.5,5,5 and 6,5 for a total of 25 points. Play is normal curling except for the last end which will be composed of a draw to the button by each player. The team with the closest draw wins the Final Skin. Individual Events. Those not playing at the time will compete in head to head individual events. The person with the most points at the end wins all the assigned points. A tie gives each team half the points. Each Individual will have 2 draws and 2 takeouts and will alternate shots with their opponent. The teams will alternate who goes first at each Individual Event. 1.
