What:

Week One,
- A volunteer club member will be on hand to demonstrate the basics for those new to the game
- Those who have already taken our "Learn to Curl Program" will get a refresher as needed.
- Experienced curlers will be on hand to fill in, play, give advice, and help as needed.
The remaining 3 weeks will be spent learning the entire game and strategy. Feel free to rotate positions each end or game so each person can see the complexity and importance of each position as we play the game. Afterward, we will "broomstack" and raise our favorite beverage and toast a good game of curling and review what you learned.
The last week will be used as playoffs, pitting the top seeds against each other for a fun last day tournament.

Who:

People new to curling who can physically play. Curlers are typically 8-80+ years, both men and women

Cost:

$88 per individual or $352 per team of 4. (If you have your own team, you can have more than 4 that first week if they need to learn, but only 4 people can play each week)

7th Annual Open KC Barbecue Bonspiel

August 27-29th , 2010

This weekend curling competition is open to local curlers, and individuals or teams from other curling clubs across the continent.

Spectator Information:

: Spectators are encouraged to drop by and watch for FREE! First Draw starts at 6:30pm on Friday with piping ceremony at 8:45pm and 2nd draw concluding at 11:15pm. Games continue on Saturday from 9:00am - 6:30pm with a cold draw to the button contest at 1:30pm. The four event finals will finish up on Sunday 9:30am-12:00pm. No tickets or reservation necessary, just stop in and learn the strategy, terminology, sweeping and curl from players of the game while experiencing the actual dimensions of a curling sheet, first hand.

Participant Information:

Our Bonspiel is an "OPEN" Event. Bring a team or join us as an individual, couple, group of friends. However many curlers you have, members from our club will gladly fill out your team if needed.

About KC....

	$375 Team entry fee or $93.75 per curler. Individuals accepted (we can find KCCC Members you can curl with).
	Open Spiel: All Participants Welcome. 3 Game Guarantee, 8 End Games, 4 Event Winners.
	Food and Drink provided throughout the event. Enjoy our KC Hospitality.
	6pm, 8pm, and 10pm Friday night first draws. Spiel concludes on Sunday at 1:30 PM.
	Registrations are kindly requested by July 23rd to assist with planning. Final Deadline: 24 Teams or August 21st.
